Clouds in the sky

Thunderstorm approaches

it has rained more in this month than in any other month in the last 100 years here in NYC.

My celebrity senses are tingling

Spiderman1

Celebrity sighting. Call TMZ! Spidey had just gotten off the L Train from Brooklyn (I thought he lived in Queens...) and appeared to be heading somewhere in the East Village. The subway is dark and I did not have a chance to properly set my camera as he was moving with authority.

Universal Studios

Universal entrance

I have to say that of all the vacation spots from my childhood, Universal Studios is still one of my favorites to this day.

We were never much for Disney. Sure, we went a time or two, but ultimately, Universal Studios is what really sent a thrill up my leg. At the time the Jaws Ride and Back To the Future simulator were high technology and cutting edge, but now Jaws is rusty and jerky experience and the BTTF ride is no longer there.

Rather, the building is now The Simpson's ride. It looks like engineers slapped on a new coat of paint to the old ride. They even got rid of the Delorean that used to sit out front.

The Simpsons Ride

It was a great chance to see the old family and even explore a new park (well, not new, but new to us) in Sea World where sits one of the best roller coasters — The Manta.

Amazing. Check out more from the vacation here.

A bullet casing in the wild.

Bullet Casing

Loving this search of the archives. Found this one with a bunch of other crime scene photos. I even found the old photos I took from the first shooting I ever covered way back in 2002.

This one is from last year when some dunder-heads decided to drive by the newsroom and shoot up the front.

More here.
