Here is a small collection of some of my favorites.
The Good Doctor
Most recently, the MCC-Longview Theater Department approached our office with a rush project to create ads, posters and mailers for the upcoming Fall Theater Production.
We had one week to create the posters going on little to no knowledge about the play (outside of the synopsis provided by the director).

The "Doctor" was done freehand and based on a photo of Checkov himself that looks vaguely familiar... I think the big influence here might have been the Ralph Steadman print I have hanging in my living room.
The Cultural Arts Center
This Fall the administration wanted to (re)kick-off the opening of the Cultural Arts Center. I say (re)kick-off because the CAC opened three years ago and had an official opening party, but nothing was put in place after the opening to advertise seasons or productions or anything under the banner of the CAC.
This fall we decided to create the Friends of the Cultural Arts Center and introduce the first full season of events and activities. I got to design the posters based on some of the designs from the first grand opening.

The design for the Friends brochure is also here.
Class Projects
Despite the fact that I have been designing newspaper pages and creating layouts for various publications since 2004, I am still relatively new to the graphic design party.
This past spring, I took my first graphic design class on campus here with a teacher who had spent most of his career as a freelance designer for Hallmark. The final project for the class was to create and layout an entire CD Jewel Case for a band (real or fictional).
I picked KC's own Tater and the Gravy Train, despite their restraining orders and pleas for no more heckling from the back.

All of the photography was my own and the layout ended up looking really sharp after printing, cutting and building the whole case. You can see the rest of the case here.
Photography
The photography genes run in the family. My great grandfather had a photo studio in Hays, Kansas, that took photos starting in the early 1900s. My grandfather took over the business before moving to KC. My father, well, he went into banking... (you win some, you lose some).
In 2008, though, after years of hobby photography, I picked up a decent camera and started shooting professionally.

Both the MCC-Longview photo blog as well as my personal Photo Blog are both hosted on Flickr.
